Vickers Wellington Mk. I L4379 18 O.T.U. Crashed 02:01:43.

The aircraft belonging to No.18 Operational Training Unit had taken off from Bramcote on a cross-country navigation exercise. At some point the aircraft encountered carburettor icing and was partially abandoned, leaving the aircraft to crash at Wilford, Nottingham, just South of the River Trent.

The crew were:

Sergeant M Nogacki

Sergeant Korzeniowski was taken for burial in the Polish plot at Newark-on-Trent.
